A campaign needs a deal and its options before any codes can be generated against it. Options are matched to Groupon's file by name, so an option name has to read word for word like the Groupon deal text.

Minimum guaranteed return per voucher

Groupon's words: your cost price, the price you want paid into your account, including delivery and all of your overheads. It is a floor, not a fixed amount — the return can be higher when the discounting is lighter and never lower, and Groupon flex the customer's price by up to 20%. In pounds and pence, with a full stop — 24.50, never 24,50.

What the statuses mean

Failed: The order never reached Linnworks. Nothing is picked, nothing will ship. Fix and place it by hand.
Held: Either the option the customer declared doesn't match what Groupon says they paid for, or the order exists but our record of it failed to save. Do not despatch until it is resolved.
Pending: A redemption that started and never finished. Fresh ones are still in flight; older than ten minutes means it stopped.
Clear: Order placed, referenced and recorded. Nothing to do.

Generate codes for an option

Codes are made one option at a time, because Groupon load a tab per option and read the number of codes on it as that option's stock. One code is one unit committed. They are not redeemable yet — exporting is what makes them live.

Step three

Export a deal for Groupon

One Excel file per deal with a tab per option, which is the form Groupon asked for. It carries every code on the deal that has not been sent yet, and every one of them becomes live the moment the file downloads — this is the point of no return.
